Update

Hi there! We just got back from our trip to Pennsylvania, so I am too tired to post pictures from our visit tonight. I will post those Saturday.

Just a quick update on Finley. First I want to say that I am in awe of our family and friends. We have amazing support, and I just can't believe it. Thank you to ALL of you who are helping us with moving things along with our girl. Also for contacting everyone and anyone you know who might help us get what we need. It is amazing, and we can't thank you enough. I didn't know so many of you were so well connected!

The support and prayers are very welcome. Once we know more, I will keep you informed. Today I actually got to speak to someone at Boston Children's Retina Specialist office. We are trying to get Finley an appointment with this particular doctor that her FIRST retina specialist wanted her to see. Just trying to get an appointment. Well, it is turning out to be like getting blood from a stone. That fun.

So I spoke to TJ today at the office, and she was very kind. She kindly asked me how many specialist Finley had already seen. She kindly asked me to get the paperwork from all of them faxed to her. She kindly told me that we have 60 (you are NOT misreading that number) people in front of us waiting for an appointment............huh? She kindly told me it would be 1-2 weeks before we heard from her office because the doctor needed to receive all of Finley's files, review the information, and then call me and make an appointment for Finley.

She kindly explained that this was because the doctor needed to determine exactly what kind of tests Finley needed, so she needed to see the records first. Apparently, she has 60 people STILL to review before she gets to Finley. TJ kindly told me she cannot make the doctor move any faster.

So.

That is that. I called all the offices and got all the records faxed, so now we wait again. I do wonder - if it takes this long to get an appointment, how long is it going to be before we actually get seen? I hate to wonder too much on that one.

In the meantime, Mat has ordered a genetic kit from "23 and me" to have Finley's DNA test done. Such and such.....over my head......should have him right this part. It will take about 1-2 months for the results of that to return to us.

So we wait. And wait. And wait. Having Cainan, we have learned to be patient with the busy doctors. If you want the best doctor, you have to have the best patience.

So, for all of you who said you know a Boston Children's doctor, and those of you who mentioned our doctor we are going to see, if you happen to run into her......just kidding.

I will update the pictures from our fun weekend to Pennsylvania on Saturday! Take care everyone!!

If you don't know what I am talking about in this post, please read the post that came before this one.

PPS - Congrats to my SIL Teen! She is having a little GIRL!! I am so excited!
