We are getting geared up for our next event for our Fund. We are really excited about our next event. It will hopefully be our biggest event this year.
On August 20th, we will be having a Bike/Walk/Run and Picnic in Connellsville. We have started to send out our brochures but you can also print out a registration from our Finley's Fighters website and send it in as well. Go HERE to get a registration form.
The pre-registration cost of the event is $20/person, or $50/family (no matter what size family!). If you register by August 4th, you can get this price. You may register AFTER this date AND the day of the event, but the cost is $25/person or $55/family to help with added costs. But we don't want you to miss the event, so don't worry if you can't sign up by the 4th.
Your registration cost gets you a event T-shirt (the design of this years t-shirt was a contest among the local high school art classes - it looks AMAZING), lunch, a personalized braille bookmark, and the kids will get to bounce in the bounce house, get their faces painted and get balloon animals made. You will be eligible for all of this even if you register the day of the event - we will just have to order and mail you your t-shirt.
You can also just come and have lunch if you would like. Lunch will cost $5/person - and you can come and just relax.
Even if you cannot come, and you still want to donate to our event, we would really appreciate it. We have a goal of $250,000 to reach by March, 2012, and we need everyone's help to reach that goal.
The event is going to be so much fun. The event will start at 10am and run until 2pm. You can come at any time during this time period!
You will be able to bike or walk or run on the beautiful trails as far as you desire. We will have the miles marked so that you will know how far you have gone.
Lunch will be served from 11am to 1pm. We will be having hotdogs, ham BBQ, chips, fruit, drinks and tons of desserts. All food has been donated by the loving Lions Clubs and Moose clubs around the area. We could never thank them enough.
We will have the pavillion set up for people to relax, and chat. We will have the near by stage set up with all the AMAZING baskets we are having donated for our raffle (more on that later). Near our pavillion there is a playground and large area for kids to play. We will have a bounce house, face painting, and balloon animals all for the kids to do as well!
It is going to be so much fun.
As for the baskets - as they come in, I am going to take their pictures so that everyone can see what we will have. You are going to be blown away by them. For example - someone is making a Harry Potter basket (which is a cauldron) and it has a SIGNED by JK Rowling Harry Potter book included. Pretty amazing.
So, I will be able to share all the baskets soon. We are going to sell raffle tickets the day of, but you DON'T have to be present to win. If you cannot come to the event but see a basket you would like to bid on, you can also do that as well. Tickets will be $2/one, $10/10, or $20/25. I know I am going to be bidding on some of them. Wait until you see them.
Lastly - we will be drawing the winner for the Signed, Authentic, Sidney Crosby Penguins Hockey Jersey. You still have time to buy tickets - we still have them. And we will be selling them the day of the event as well. We will draw the winner at the end of the event so that everyone has every chance to get a ticket who wants one. And you DON'T have to be there to win - we can get the Jersey to you and we will call you immediately if you are the winner! This is an AMAZING Jersey, and we are so lucky that we were able to have this donated.
