Are You Ready for some FOOTBALL??

We are!
Here we go Steelers!  Here we go!!
I am writing this post before the game even starts, so if it ends up a loss for our Steelers, this post is still upbeat.
We wore our Steelers gear to church this morning.  I know, I know.  But we happen to have some church friends who are big Green Bay Packer fans  (kind of an unreal number for our little church to be honest) and they told us last week they would be wearing their shirts.
So - we went dressed.  We even took a Terrible Towel to have a little something extra.  It was fun.
Arlington even had her yellow and black hair ties in.  We were set!
In other news, the snow in our yard had taken on a new hue.
After all the snow, we had the ice and the rain, so now the snow is......shiny.
I do have to say we saw some serious melting

Okay - I was in the middle of writing this post at 6:00pm, and about 5 minutes after it started, I hear crying coming from the playroom.  Out comes Finley - holding her right eye.  Arlington says they were running on the new wood floor (grrrrrr) and she lost her balance and fell.  She was wearing her glasses at the time and the glasses cut her eye brow and caused a significant cut and bruise under her eye, on her cheek bone.

She wasn't crying hard, but she was bleeding quite a bit.  Mat and I tried to downplay it, but Arlington loved saying "oooo, it looks bad!"  or "ooooo, that is a bad cut that won't stop bleeding".  No medical field for her - she will scare the patients.

So - after it not stopping, I decided to take her to the ER to have it looked at.  If our walk-in clinic would have been open, I would have gone there instead.  (we have an awesome one).  But it closes at 4pm, so I didn't have a choice.

Luckily, everyone was home gorging themselves silly on superbowl food, and the ER was empty.  We were in an out in an hour.  They were going to stitch it, because it was in her eyebrow, but after I made puppy dog eyes at them, they went with the glue.  They figured that she was old enough that she would leave it alone.  So for 10 days she can't get it wet and she has to keep it covered.
She was hurting tonight, but I gave her some Tylenol and a little sponge bath and she felt better.  She went right to sleep and hopefully she will feel better tomorrow.  The doctor thinks she is going to have quite the shiner.  Awesome.
Tomorrow she is supposed to be filmed for Perkins School of the Blind.  We had to cancel a few weeks ago when she had a fever.  Tomorrow - if they come - she will be forever on tape with a black eye and a big bandaid.  So, I may see if they would mind changing it.  Again.

Our girl!  This is her third ER visit in 4 years.  She actually had this SAME exact injury (different accident) about 2 1/2 years ago.  The scar from that one is right above her new injury.  At least she is consistent.

See you tomorrow.
