Rare Disease Day 2014

Today is Rare Disease Day across the country.  The day people storm Washington to bring awareness to rare diseases of all kinds.

Today, Finley took brailled rubber wristbands to all of her friends.  Then Mat took her to the State House where they hung her art work, along with other folks art work with rare diseases.  They provided a fancy lunch, and the US Senators of MA spoke to them.

Here are some pictures from her trip to the State House with Mat.

And then I made a request on facebook for people to show their support for rare disease and Finley by dressing in Red.  The response was utterly AMAZING.  I asked them to take a picture and send it to me, and they came by the dozens.  So here they are.  No names, since this is a public blog, but you have to see this.  It is too much.  Made me quite teary to see the support.
