This weekend, we wore jeans and long sleeves for the first time since early June.
The temperatures are cool, and it was sunny. It was a great day to be outside.
Mat and I did some yardwork, while the kids played around in the yard.
Some of my late summer flowers have started to bloom.
After enjoying a fun morning and afternoon outside, we went for an early lunch to Olive Garden (yum) and some shopping.
I am continuing to make braille shirts - they are so fun! I will have a few more examples for the blog later this next week. If you want one - I will be making them all the time, so just let me know! I have made about 12 or so, and I am still working on the next batch. I love it!
Also - don't forget that in 3 WEEKS is the VisionWalk in Pittsburgh. We would love to get an idea of how many people will be joining us that day. We know the number is high, but just email myself, my mom, or my mother in law, Sally, and let us know. We want to make sure we give you directions and where to park. And this walk is on a trail - it is slow and steady. Not a race! And you don't have to walk the whole thing if you just want to come and see us!
I plan on raffling off a basket of Finley's Fighters items at the race. We have many cool things, so come and get your chance to win! I will try and put the basket together and take a picture. AND - if you can't walk, but still want a chance to win, let me know! It is neat stuff!
So come walk with us. We are putting in our next big shirt order on Monday, so contact us if you still need one. We will always be ordering, but this will probably be the last order before the walk on October 2nd (at 10am - be there between 9-10) so get yours if you still need on for walk day!
Okay - now that business is out of the way - catch up!
Arlington got this outfit from Gramma Sally yesterday in the mail. She was so excited! From the head band to the shoes - it is all Gramma's doing. She looked so sweet - she wore it out to dinner today.
(remind me of ruby slippers from Wizzard of Oz)
Arlington broke her head. Literally. She fell last Sunday when she was putting her scooter away, and tripped on our stone steps. She hit her head pretty hard. No bump, no bruise, not dizzzy - whole nine yards. She didn't seem hurt that badly. But she complained of a headache non stop for 3 days. So I took her to the pediatrician who thought she had a concussion, but probably should be checked out at the hospital just to be safe. So she has a small fracture in her skull. It is going to take time to heal, but will heal on its own. She is on a no sports, no rough activity, etc. for two weeks. Then she will be cleared by the doctor to go back to normal. We can't wait!
Finley had a chance to visit the Kindergarten class she will be going into next year. Once a month this year she will be going to Kindergarten with either myself, Mat, or someone with BESB. This will give her a chance to learn the building and the room layout and the routine while she still has some sight. It was the schools idea, and she loved it! The kids were really sweet to her, and she really was very well behaved. She is looking forward to going again next month.
Cainan has a cold. Poor baby. Being back in school -I am not surprised. He is still acting himself, but he sounds terrible. He was the first one asleep tonight, so hopefully he will rest well and feel better tomorrow.
The RDH12 Fund for Sight is well on its way! Mat is almost done working on it. We are just waiting for the logo we are going to use, and then it should be ready for viewing! In the meantime, you can still visit the website HERE (www.finleyfighters.com) and keep up to date that way!
And as for today - being 9/11 - we will never forget the men and women that lost their lives that day, and have lost thier lives since. 9 years. It is kind of unbelieveable. I am sure the pain for those families is still as real today as it was in 2001. I remember where I was, do you?
I think that catches you up. I am sure you are very excited. I will see you Monday for Making Meals Monday!
Bye!
